Company Objectives

Burke Urban have genuinely embraced the ideals of sustainability since 1984 as part of good development practice. Our social conscience and commitment to innovation has led us to focus on environmental sensitivity particularly relating to ecosystems, water efficient design and materials and waste re-use and recycling. We have also shown strong leadership and vision in the area of community development. The Linear Park Estate at Athelstone/Highbury, the Waterford project in Mt Barker, and the acclaimed Ascot Waters project in Perth are regarded as lead projects in these three key areas of sustainability. 

Burke Urban are now moving from a broad embracing of the triple-bottom line philosophy of sustainability and turning these in to actual development objectives and commitments. UDIA SA has recently established a new Enviro Development certification process for projects which achieve “a high level of sustainability across six development areas.” Burke Urban is keen to participate in this certification initiative for forthcoming projects and to formalise and improve upon the practices we have always valued, and to which we will continue to adhere.
