Linear Park
Linear Park Estate is a 450-lot integrated residential and riverside development just 13 kilometres from the centre of Adelaide, at the foothills of the Mt. Lofty Ranges.
This highly successful development, initiated in 1991 by Burke Urban, involved a series of land swaps, a Ministerial re-zoning over two Local Government areas and complex negotiations with five separate private landowners.
This unique scheme, developed in a 50/50 partnership with John Wicks, landowner, orchardist and civil contractor, set new standards in the treatment and management of storm-water and the relationship between urban form and the river environment, enabling the completion of the River Torrens Linear Park from Dernancourt to the Torrens Gorge.
This Burke Urban / Wicks partnership resulted in the formation of Domain Project Developments.
