Ascot Waters
Ascot Waters is a multi-award winning project in Perth, Western Australia. It was a nationally tendered project promoted by three levels of government in 1994. Kym Burke initiated the tender response and formulated a highly successful partnership between Estates Development Company and Domain Project Developments.
Ascot Waters is a major urban renewal and open space project with a total site area of approximately 100 ha that has seen the conversion of a disused industrial site, clay-pit, drive-in cinema and rubbish tip into an exciting residential community, river marina and some 30 hectares of new regional open space. Environmental management, community development, outstanding urban design and consequential economic growth have been key achievements within this development.
As a national and state development project, Ascot Waters has a high profile in both political and social terms and is generally regarded as one of the three premium Perth City Urban Renewal projects. It is also a gateway project of considerable importance due to its location, close to Perth and the Domestic and International Airports.
